basically emotional manipulation and guilt tripping as social justice praxis is pointless and not sustainable imo. it doesn’t promote real growth or solidarity if the entire basis of your activism is stemming from guilt or fear
it’s also worth pointing out that it turns “social justice” into something uncomfortably like religion. it establishes patterns of behavior that you’re expected to follow, not necessarily because you understand them or agree with them, but because you are afraid of the consequences if you don’t. it turns communities of “activists” into self-aggrandizing moralistic pissing contests, where the pecking order is defined by who knows more of the rules, and who is more willing to enforce them on others (usually, by any means necessary). it encourages ideological purity and discourages debate, discussion, education, and subsequent individual and community growth.
Tbh almost all of the Asian activism on here is absolutely shitty Bc rather than talking about issues it’s more of like: “hey? Asians exist?????” Like yeah they fucking do there’s no talk about politics or anything until another group wants to talk then it’s all “WHAT ABOUT US????” Like calm down y’all are given the chance to speak out about what’s going on in Asian communities but instead all of the popular posts are just: “DONT FORGET THAT ASIANS EXIST NOT JUST X COUNTRIES BECAUSE THEYRE NOT AS OPPRESSED AS OTHER AZNS”
like the problem tho is that we do make posts about asian issues and politics, i especially talk a lot about the white girl-run “”“aesthetic”“” blogs that post pastel pictures of pocky and mochi ice cream and talk about their “”“immersive cultural experience”“”
i talk a fuckin. LOT. about how uncomfortable it is to see my culture be not idolized, as many would call it, but regarded as something foreign, weird, something other than what is supposed to be ordinary and i beg weea/koreaboos to stay in their own fuckin lane
but they wont interact with those posts because they make them feel uncomfortable with themselves, because doing so would necessitate a change of behavior and a moment of introspection
as a result we are left with these 60k+ note “asians exist and are beautiful!!” “remember that east asians exist and deserve to be loved!!!” posts bc of course they exist, their culture is so “uwu ~~fascinating~~”
hey, minors, please do not treat paypal like a social media account. it is banking. it is a legal thing. you’re not legally allowed to have one. if you ever prove identity your funds will be seized and your account will be closed. making a paypal as a minor is dangerous and useless to you.
you can never delete an account, only close it, so if you ever prove identity banks will then have that information at their disposal. and paypal may even take legal action against you.
if you made a paypal account as a minor: close it right now.
if you’re in serious trouble you’re going to need the help of someone who is legally an adult to run money through them, otherwise again, you could be in serious legal troubles.
DO NOT MAKE A FAKE PAYPAL ACCOUNT IN SOMEONE ELSE’S NAME it is identity fraud … this is again taken VERY SERIOUSLY. I cannot stress this enough.
you can also seriously fuck over your own credit rating in the future, and that can turn into something thatll haunt you for a long time if you fuck up bad enough.
I know you kids probably aren’t thinking about credit yet, but it is important when you’re an adult, it can be the difference between getting housing and not getting house. it is a huge deal.
