Peridot: “Luckily, I don’t leave home without a blaster.”
Peridot: Is the most successful long-lasting solo antagonist up to date who was only captured because she had to eject something that cost her mobility, and then made an especially risky move in kidnapping Steven right from the Temple, which she pulled off without a hitch and could have easily killed him at that point. Immediately after capture, she was able to effectively use her knowledge of the Cluster to negotiate for her survival.
Peridot: before then, outmaneuvered, trapped, and nearly killed Garnet and Pearl- two of the senior members and heavy hitters of the Crystal Gems- in Friend Ship.
Peridot: Successfully evaded capture and defended herself on multiple occasions using functions of her enhancers that she was markedly unfamiliar with and improvising the entire time.
Peridot: Dramatically redesigned and rebuilt the communications hub into a working structure without any assistance, though it took the Crystal Gems a three-gem fusion to take it down both times.
Peridot: Markedly outspoken, opinionated, and inquisitive, to the point that she argues with every ostensible superior she has ever interacted with- Jasper, Yellow Diamond, and the Crystal Gems- and makes her argument against YD effectively and clearly without once parroting anything the Crystal Gems have told her. Is consistently an outspoken, inquisitive, and inventive character.
Peridot: Was able to build a functional battle tank in a barn using tools she was so unfamiliar with she was holding at least one upside-down the entire time, and then pilot it effectively through the entirety of Robolympics and the fight afterwards against Pearl.
Peridot: Along with Pearl, built the drill, and individually piloted it to the center of the planet, where, despite being heavily damaged by the Cluster, it managed both the initial descent and the return trip without endangering Steven and Peridot once.
Peridot: Able to defeat Jasper using a power she had never exploited in combat before, taking advantage of the fact that Jasper was completely focused on Amethyst and Steven, though it took her considerable time and effort to do so, further reinforcing the consistent message that operating without her enhancers is unnecessarily difficult for for her, with no gain.
Peridot: Feels so strongly about doing the right thing that she personally and openly argued with the highest authority that she knew of, and was willing to do the same to the Crystal Gems. At this point, is experiencing a fairly major crisis as she feels divided between what she’s found on Earth and what she does not want to give up from Homeworld, and has largely tried to bond with Lapis- who is another homesick Gem that likes Earth but doesn’t want to give up Homeworld forever for it.
Fandom: look at this defenseless toddler who has been spoonfed all of her opinions by Homeworld, lol, can you imagine, she took out Jasper.
