Tbh almost all of the Asian activism on here is absolutely shitty Bc rather than talking about issues it’s more of like: “hey? Asians exist?????” Like yeah they fucking do there’s no talk about politics or anything until another group wants to talk then it’s all “WHAT ABOUT US????” Like calm down y’all are given the chance to speak out about what’s going on in Asian communities but instead all of the popular posts are just: “DONT FORGET THAT ASIANS EXIST NOT JUST X COUNTRIES BECAUSE THEYRE NOT AS OPPRESSED AS OTHER AZNS”

like the problem tho is that we do make posts about asian issues and politics, i especially talk a lot about the white girl-run “”“aesthetic”“” blogs that post pastel pictures of pocky and mochi ice cream and talk about their “”“immersive cultural experience”“”

i talk a fuckin. LOT. about how uncomfortable it is to see my culture be not idolized, as many would call it, but regarded as something foreign, weird, something other than what is supposed to be ordinary and i beg weea/koreaboos to stay in their own fuckin lane

but they wont interact with those posts because they make them feel uncomfortable with themselves, because doing so would necessitate a change of behavior and a moment of introspection

as a result we are left with these 60k+ note “asians exist and are beautiful!!” “remember that east asians exist and deserve to be loved!!!” posts bc of course they exist, their culture is so “uwu ~~fascinating~~”
