Pedophilia is a problem deserving of help, but not a problem deserving of pride or public platforms. If someone finds themselves attracted to minors, positivity, acceptance, and the normalization of pedophilia aren’t going to help them. And more seriously, it is going to bring harm to minors.

Fostering an accepting, positive environment for pedophiles so they can pat themselves on the back and congratulate themselves on not being one of the “bad ones” normalizes their attraction to minors, understates its severity, and provides no incentive for change. It leaves them at a standstill where positive progress and healing become impossible.

Not only that, but pedophiles using public social media platforms to normalize their attraction exposes minors to it, something they constantly reassure us they are trying to prevent.

Pedophilie positivity is reckless and dangerous. It makes pedophiles think that being that way is okay. It makes MINORS think that pedophiles being the way they are is okay. It provides pedophiles with excuses and palliative self assurance that will prevent them from getting proper help and WILL lead them to harm minors.

Do not normalize pedophilia, condemn it. Do not allow anyone to think that pedophilia is anything but wrong, disgusting, and reprehensible. Acceptance isn’t the answer, and pedophile’s feelings are not the priority. The priority is and always will be protecting minors. Period.
